The Central San Francisco Innovation and Sustainability Tour was commissioned by Boeing China for the 2012 NDRC Executive Development Program. The theme of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) visit to the Bay Area was Leadership through the Stages of Innovation. UIX Global worked with Boeing China to develop a program whereby NDRC members were introduced to key institutions and managers that are actively driving innovation ecosystem models for new technology and economic development in the Bay Area. As an extension of this program, UIX Global also arranged for the NDRC delegation to tour the Redwood City headquarters of Silver Springs Networks, a Smart Grid and smart metering pioneer.

Director General and Deputy Director General level officials of the NDRC. The NDRC is China’s central macro-economic planning ministry. It develops, authors, and executes the vast majority of China’ macro-economic policies; and it asserts significant control over micro-economic activity, including aerospace and civil aviation, through its regulatory review and approval authority.
