This integrated coastal management strategic plan was a consulting project with the Ferrara Research Consortium (CFR). The projects was initiated following an initial study completed as part of the activities of the Eco-Polis International Master Program. The project addressed policies for sustainable economic development, regional marketing, governance and cultural heritage preservation working with the municipal and regional governments to formulate and implement integrated sustainable planning policies and pilot projects that incorporate new technology and best practices from other parts of the globe. Funded in part by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the project engaged local citizens, and small and medium business owners to activate the regional economies while supporting local production clusters, artisans and farmers with collaborative techniques for valorization of the local social and cultural heritage resources.
